Because her mother was a physician, she and her 2 sisters all graduated from Oberlin College. She was a progressive and campaigned for women's right to vote. When that was achieved she went on to be one of the founding members of the League of Women Voters in Toldeo where she and her husband lived. She was active in the early movement to allow juveniles who were detained in the juvenile justice systerm the right to psychological counselling. I'm proud that she was my great grandmother.
