"Mamo" was born in Newburgh Township in the home that had grown from the log cabin her grandparents built when they came to Ohio in 1811 from CT. Her parents were Ashbel Walworth Morgan and Zerviah Davenport Burke. She was well versed in the arts and music and was an artist in her own right, having studied at the Cleveland Female Seminary. Many of the members of the family are proud to have her pen and ink drawings, water color and oil paintings. She passed these musical and artistic talents on to many of her descendants including her three sons.
