On the 1910 US Census, it was listed they had 6 children, and 3 children were living.

Parshal W. Cornelius was born in Boone county, Ky., June 28, 1939, and died in Americus, Kas., March 9, 1895, being at the time of his death 55 years, 8 months and 10 days of age. Being compelled to leave his old Kentucky home at the outbreak of the war, in 1861, he came to Cincinnati. In August of 1862 he enlisted in the 83rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry and served his country until honorably discharged at the close of the war.

He came to southern Illinois in 1872, April 30, 1879 married Miss Sarah Paul. They have had six children, three of whom preceded their father to glory, and three with the bereaved wife, remain to mourn the loss of a fond and devoted husband and father.

He made a public profession of his faith in Marissa, Ill., in the fall of 1878; joining the United Presbyterian church. He came to Kansas the spring of 1885, and has made his home in Americus and vicinity since. He has held his membership in the United Presbyterian church at this place since 1886.

The funeral of Mr. Cornelius took place Saturday morning at 10:30 o’clock from the church. The services were conducted by Rev. R. W. Bride, of Emporia, assisted by Revs. Isaac Hill, F. D. Loy and R. J. Hammond. The pallbearers were old soldiers, and the interment ceremonies at the grave, were in charge of the G.A.R., of which order the deceased was a valiant member.

The bereaved widow and children have the sympathy and condolence of a large circle of relatives and friends.
