Margaret Martin Driskill, 82, of Lynchburg, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at Virginia Baptist Hospital. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Nelius Kermit Driskill.

Born Aug. 18, 1924, in Appomattox County, she was the daughter of the late Eural Adkerson Martin and the late Ercie Martin Martin.

In her earlier years, Mrs. Driskill along with her husband, helped establish Milford Mill United Methodist Church in Pikesville, Md., where she was very active from 1952-1982. In 1982, she moved to Lynchburg and devoted the rest of her life to her brother, Don. Also, for the past 25 years, she was a member of Fort Hill United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Samuel Martin.

She is survived by two children, Cynthia Driskill and husband, John Lenzini, of Dallas, Texas, and Robert A. Driskill and wife, Susan Slack, of Brentwood, Tenn.; 5 grandchildren, Deborah Driskill, Mark Kuhn, Michael Driskill, Christopher Driskill and Christopher "Bub" Slack; eight great-grandchildren; one great- great-granddaughter; one brother, Don A. Martin; one sister, Ella Mae Steppe; one nephew and one niece and their families.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at Fort Hill United Methodist Church by the Rev. Janet Hawkins. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.

Family visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and other times at the residence, 1130 Rhode Island Ave., Lynchburg.
