Rudolph Rudy Frank Blaskiewicz, 91, of Ely died Sunday, April 23, 2006, in the Ely-Bloomenson Nursing Home.

He was born August 23, 1914, in Rosburn, Manitoba, the son of Marshall and Mary (Karmazynuk) Blaskiewicz and married Sophie Zyla.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and was employed as an electrician. Rudy was a member of St. Anthonys Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of VFW Post No. 2004 in Chicago, and was a 55 year member of the IBEW. He was an avid gardener; and loved people.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sophie; brothers, Stanley and Edward; and sister, Vera.
