One of four brothers who immigrated from Hover, Ringkobing Denmark.

Kristen was the oldest of 11 children born to Jacob and Maren Pedersen in Denmark. After his parents and 7 of his siblings died young, he and his surviving brothers emigrated to the USA (Utah and Idaho) in 1888-1896.

He immigrated in 1888 and lived in Illinois for 3yrs then moved to Provo; Utah living
in the household of his brother Karl from about 1891 to 1917 in Provo, Utah, then again from 1917 to 1921 in Park City, Utah. Kristen farmed, herded, assisted in his brother Karl's farm and then he was a miner in Mercur, Utah and also Park City, Utah.

He married Charlotte Knight Wager Olund in Malad Idaho in May 7, 1926 and they lived in Provo, Utah until 1933. . Then he and his Wife Charlotte moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho where they lived with his brother Anton and wife Alvile until his death at age 68 in 1934.
His funeral services were held at the 3rd LDS Ward in Idaho Falls, Idaho with Bishop John M. Homer conducting. He was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
