Mrs. Maude Mary Wise, 97, of Jonesboro, AR., passed away Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
She was born November 2, 1914, in Annieville, AR., to the late William Ivy and Nellie Gibbons Dent.
She was a Homemaker and a member of the First Assembly of God in Jonesboro. A former volunteer auxiliary at NEA Baptist Hospital and active in the church. She loved gardening and sewing and loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Rose Nell McKillip and her husband Doug of Caruthersville, MO, Charlene Jernigan and her husband James of Jonesboro; a son, Jim Wise and his wife Shirley of Jonesboro; a granddaughter, Jennifer Jernigan; three grandsons, Chris Jernigan, Clay Hurn and Landon Wise; four great grandchildren, Lauren Grantham, Jackson Jernigan, Kade James and Gabrielle Giddings. Special thanks to her Niece Marie Hahn for her love and support.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward A. Wise; two brothers, Joe Dent and Cecil Dent; a sister, Annie Abee.
A celebration of her life was held at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home. Interment was in Nettleton Cemetery.
