Henrietta Greene, Tallula, Dies at 92
Talula, Nov. 3.—Leaving descendants to the fifth generation, Mrs. Henrietta Greene, who came to Illinois from Kentucky in a covered wagon drawn by oxen more than four score years ago, died at a Jacksonville hospital yesterday at the age of 92, following a short illness.
The decedent was married to McHenry Greene in 1857 at Tallula, where she has made her home for the last fifty-four years, residing with a daughter, Mrs. George Griffin. Surviving besides Mrs. Griffin are a son, John, of Springfield; twenty-three grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the residence, Rev. E.K. Beckett, pastor of the Christian church, officiating, assisted by Rev. C. F. Janssen, pastor of the Presbyterian church. Interment will be made in White cemetery.
