COREA - Sara E. Young, 76, died at her home, Sept. 15, 1998, after a brave battle with brain cancer. She was born on Beals Island, Dec. 23, 1921, the daughter of Herman B. and Ulrika E. (Backman), Faulkingham.
Member of Corea Baptist Church, serving as organist until 1998. Member of Pythian Sisters Holcyon Temple #56 of Prospect Harbor and Seaside Grange #467 of Corea. Graduate of University of Machias, Orono in 1961.
She is survived by three sons, all of Corea; 19 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren. Also survived by a brother, two aunts, one uncle, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Clifford F. Young in 1974.
At her request, there will be no visiting hours. Graveside services will be held at Corea Village Cemetery, Corea, with the Rev. Blayton Fulton officiating. Sara loved flowers and they will be appreciated by her family. Arrangements by Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Milbridge.
