Funeral services over the body of Mrs. Elizabeth V. Allen, aged 79 years, who died Monday afternoon at her home, 1118 Cowart street, after an Illness of one week, were held from the residence of her son, J. M. Allen, 1116 Cowart street, at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Claude E. Hill officiated. The body was laid to rest In Forest Hills cemetery and the following grandsons of deceased acted as pallbearers: Louie Allen, Will Rollins, Duke Allen, Charley Hicks, Henry Schmissrauter and Carl Lieb.
Mrs. Allen was a member of the Cowart Street Church of Christ. She had been a resident of Chattanooga for forty-five years. Surviving her are two sons, W. S. and J. M. Allen; two daughters, Mrs. W. A. Rollins and Mrs. W. M. Hicks of Chattanooga; two brothers, W. M. and Albert Vickrey of Texas, and a sister, Mrs. Pauline Matheney, of Paris, Tenn.
