The 1925 Kansas State Census Report shows the family living in Jefferson, Kansas with Leo still farming to support his family. The 1930 US Federal Census Report shows the family in Dover, Kansas and the occupation continues to be farming. By 1933 the family had moved to Topeka, Kansas on North Jackson Street; according to the US City Directory of that year. The directory lists "horses and mules" as their trade. The 1935 Topeka City Directory lists the family on Shorey Street with his trade listed as "Horse Buyer".
The 1940 US Federal Census Report shows Leo and Edna living in DeWitt, Iowa with just one child still at home; Dale. Leo's occupation is reported as "Livestock Delivery".
Leo's 1942 WWII Draft Registration Card shows him living with Edna in Palmyra, Illinois. It is believed he did not serve due to his age listed on the card as 50.
Hazard Leo Moore died on September 5, 1951 at the age of 59 in Viola, Linn County, Iowa. He is buried at the Wilcox Cemetery in Fairview Township, Iowa next to his wife, Edna Dora (Capps) Moore who died just the year before on May 5, 1950. Leo and Edna share a headstone of what looks like pink and white granite.
