Lifetime Garden resident Ella E. Rochefort of 15902 Mill street, Garden died Oct.15,2004 at Marquette General Hospital. She was born Feb. 8,1925 in Garden the daughter of John and Mary (Kosiba) Prezsnar and attended school in Garden.
She married Norman Rochefort in Garden. He preceded her in death on Nov.28,1990.
Ella was a member of St.John the Baptiste Catholic Church.She served as the Garden Village treasurer for many years. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and enjoyed bird watching.
She is survived by: her sons Barry (Bonnie) Rochefort of Garden, Brent (Sandy) Rochefort of Manistique and Brian (Shaunna) Rochefort of Garden; daughters Diane (Jerry) Jyrkila of Gooseneck Lake, Candy (Doug) Robinson of Manistique and Debbie (Jerry) Sitkoski of Fayette; grandchildren Scott (Lynn) McPhee, Brent Rochefort Jr., Bruce (Laura)Rochefort,Brad Rochefort, Shelley Todd,Lori (Manny) Sundling,Jennifer (Scott) Farley, Erin Rochefort, Kristin Rochefort,Jeff (Stephanie) Rochefort,Jason Rochefort,Rebecca (Jeff) Baker and Amanda (Dan) Weber; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers John Wrubel of Detroit and Edward (Poppy) Prezsnar of Garden; sister Wilma Holmgren of Tamarac,Fla and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was precede in death by a grandson, Adam Robinson; great-grandaughter Emily McPhee;twin great-grandsons; Braden and Brandon Rochefort; and a sister Ruth.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on today at the Messier-Brouillire Funeral Home in Garden. Funeral services will follow at 8p.m. with Father Joseph Varickamackal officiatin. Burial will be in the New Garden Cemetery in Garden Township.
