Daisy I. Jones was born April 23, 1886, near Pollock, Missouri, to Charles and Nancy Pherigo. She departed this life August 18, 1977, at St. Joseph Hospital, Wichita, Kansas at the age of 91 years, 5 months and 25 days.
She was married to Frank Dormer at Pollock, Missouri on March 4, 1906. To this union was born two sons; Claud L. Dormer of Wichita, Kansas and Bert r. Dormer of Homeland, California. They lived most of those lives together in the grocery business in Putnam County, Missouri, and as farmers in Cimmaron County, Oklahoma. Frank Dormer preceded her in death June 13, 1951.
She remarried Burt R. Jones of Lincoln, Nebraska on January 3, 1956. They spent 7 years of married life at Lincoln, Nebraska and Wichita, Kansas, where he passed away on December 12, 1963.
The remainder of her life she spent in her home near her son in Wichita, Kansas.
She leaves to survive: Claud and Alma Dormer of Wichita, Kansas, Bert and Ruth Dormer of Homeland, California; two step-sons: Glen Jones of Bradenton, Florida and Richard Jones of Lincoln, Nebraska; two granddaughters: Donna Moore of Belleplaine, Kansas and Carole Willison of Hemet, California; and eight grandchildren.
She joined the United Brethren Church at an early age. She has been a devoted mother and wife. She leaves many friends and neighbors who will remember her wit and brilliant mind.
Services were held at Broadway Mortuary, Wichita, Kansas. Burial was at Planeview Cemetery near Unionville, Missouri.
