Mrs. WM. Stark of Shellsburg Dies
Bright's Disease Proved Fatal to Sister of Vintonian. funeral Held Yesterday Afternoon
Following an illness of a year from Bright's disease, Mrs. Wm. Stark, a sister of Geo. Hanover of this city died Tuesday noon at her home in Shellsburg. For a week prior to her death Mrs. Stark had been in a critical condition. Deceased was known to her host of friends as "Mother" Stark and was a splendid woman. She had lived in Shellsburg nearly all her life.
The funeral was held from the Baptist church in Shellsburg yesterday afternoon. Rev. Bryden officiating, at the services,. Interment was in the Shellsburg cemetery. The R.N.A. lodge of Urbana had charge of the burial service.
Mrs. Cora E Stark, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hanover, was born in Shellsburg Sept. 6, 1868.
She was married to Wm. Stark January 26, 1886. To this union were born three children; Mrs. Mary Vanderventer of Urbana, Mrs. Alice Thompson of Van Horne and Harry of Shellsburg.
Rev. Shortess baptized her about 25 years ago into the Baptist church. She has been a loving and faithful wife and mother, a good neighbor, and her death comes as a shock to her friends and loved ones.
Before losing her health she was a willing worker in the church and the Royal Neighbor lodge. She leaves to morn her death her husband, mother, six sisters and three brothers, and many friends.
