Mary Lou Sullivan, 85, of Fayetteville, died Monday (Feb. 20, 1989) in Lincoln Regional Hospital following an extended illness. Funeral services were conducted Thursday at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerome Hilliard and the Rev. William Howard officiating. Burial followed in Lincoln Cemetery. A native of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late John and Addie Randolph Howell and a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Emmett M. Sullivan of Fayetteville; five daughters, Ruth Durham, Stacy Clark and Bobbie Clark, all of Fayetteville, Ruby Woodward of Petersburg and Leona Bernard of Detroit, Mich.; one son, Charles Sullivan of Fayetteville; a brother, Johnny Howell of Fayetteville; 26 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
