Mrs. Mary E. James, 72, died very suddenly Saturday afternoon at about 3 o'clock at the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Wilson, on President Street as a result of an attack of heart trouble. The body was taken to Nelsonville Sunday evening and the funeral will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of Charles James. Burial will be made at Green Lawn. Mrs. James was a widow of the late Cyrus James, of Nelsonville, who died about two years ago in a manner identical with that in which his wife died here Saturday afternoon. Since her husband's death, Mrs. James had been visiting with relatives the greater part of her time. About a month ago she came to the Wilson home and apparently was in fairly good health considering her age. On Saturday, she was brighter than usual until about 15 minutes before her death. She was stricken suddenly and died just is a physician arrived. Mrs. James was Miss. Mary E. King before her marriage to Cyrus James and her early home was in Millfield. For about 20 years prior to her death, the family had resided in Nelsonville. She leaves two sons, Charles and Eugene of Nelsonville. She was a sister of Robert King, formally postmaster at Gloucester, who now lives in Athens, was a sister of the late James King of this city, of "Squire" B.W. King of Nelsonville, and left the following sisters: Mrs. W. R. Wilson of this city; Mrs. L. W. Sanders of Millfield and Mrs. Smith of Denver, Colorado. -Athens Daily Messenger, February 12, 1912.
