Alice Hicks Hagewood, 81, of Louisville, Ky., and longtime resident of Belen, died on Tuesday, Jan. 13. Alice was a native of Dadeville, Ala., and lived in Belen from 1928 to 1944.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Sam Hicks, who was killed in 1944 while flying missions for the 8th Air Force out of England. She was a member of Middletown Methodist Church of Louisville.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Hagewood, and her daughter, Patti Hagewood.

Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 16, at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, Louisville, Ky., with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery.

Alice's parents, Gordon and Ruth Hicks, owned and operated the old Central Theater for 12 years. It was located on the site of the present Hub Furniture Company, 204 N. Main in Belen.
