Lawrence "Larry" Daylor, 79, Wamego, died Feb. 26, 1988, at a Topeka hospital after a long illness. He had been Hospitalized for a week for cancer. .
Mr. Daylor was a General Motors automotive dealer until he retired in 1972.
He was born Dec. 14, 1908, at rural Wamego, the son of Edward and Mary Bach Daylor.
He spent four years overseas during WW II in the Nat'l Guard, in the European Theater, where he took part in the Normandy Invasion, rose to the rank of master sergeant and was awarded the Silver Star.
He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church; VFW; American Legion; Wamego and Manhattan Country clubs; the Kansas Motor Car Dealers' Club and served as president of Daylor Motors until he retired.
He married Betty Rawson on Aug. 13, 1955, at Wamego. She survives.
Other survivors include nieces and nephews.
