Born Jan. 9, 1911, to Aurillia (Winnie) Lee and William Horrocks in Iona, Idaho, Elwood was raised in the Idaho Falls area. He was a long-time resident of Fernwood, St. Maries and Santa. Elwood owned and operated logging company and worked on his ranch.
In 1936, he married Mabel Annette Wheeler in Missoula, Mont. They moved to Post Falls in 1976.
A life member of St. Maries Elks, he also was a member of Eagles in both St. Maries and Post Falls. Elwood was raised in the LDS Church. He enjoyed horses, hunting and traveling, especially in his RV.
Survivors include his beloved companion Jean Pilik of Post Falls; sons and daughters-in-law Bub and Susan Horrocks, Lewiston, Mick and Linda Horrocks, Post Falls; seven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; brothers Willard Horrocks, Las Vegas, Bill Horrocks, West Jordan, Utah; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Elwood was preceded in death by his wife Mabel Horrocks in 1980, their infant daughter Billie Rae in 1946 and daughter Donna Green in 2001.
Visitation hours will be 10 a.m.-5 p.m. both Wednesday and Thursday at English Funeral Chapel, Post Falls. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Church of the Nazarene, Post Falls, and burial service will be 3 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery, St. Maries.
