Paul Lukas Gaze, 56, of Silver Lake passed away April 17, 2010, at the Hospice Care Center of acute leukemia.
He was a 1972 graduate of Castle Rock High School. He worked for Weyerhaeuser Co., the State of California and most recently owned P&D Transport.
Paul loved attending Mass and lived the life of the beatitudes. His whole life was devoted to loving his children and enjoying the pleasure of his grandchildren. He was a friend to everyone and everyone was his friend. Paul enjoyed spending time with his family and friend, working on his shop, riding his motorcycle, boating, his cat "Dickie," and being in the happy sun.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dee.
Paul is survived by his grandfather, Cecil Eklund in Oregon; his mother, Jeanne Gaze of Castle Rock; his daughters, Cindy Kazeck in Oregon, Jeanne in Longview, Robynn in Oregon and Ramona McLean (Guy Gallear Jr.) of Kelso; his sons, Andy in Longview, Luke in California, Bucky (Virginia) in Oregon and Levi in Illinois; three sisters, Shirley (Mike) Jokela, Leann (Tim) Graunitz and Janet; a brother, David; eight grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, followed by a rosary at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Castle Rock. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's, followed by a graveside service at Cowlitz View Memorial Gardens in Kelso and a celebration of life in the church's parish hall.
