Died Jan. 3, 2004
Robert M. Able, 80, of Huntsville passed away on Saturday.
Mr. Able had lived in Huntsville for the past 43 years. He was retired from NASA and was a World War II veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Able; daughter and son-in-law, Sheri and Jim Mankowski; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Gregg and Valerie Able, all of Huntsville; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Delores Able of San Antonio, Texas; niece, Pamela Kovacs of Garland, Texas; three grandchildren, Allyson Marshall (Chaed) Agee, Tiffiny Able and Drew Able; and one great-grandson, Nicholas Agee.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Berryhill Funeral Home. A graveside service, followed by burial, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Maple Hill Cemetery with Rev. Steve Sharp officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or to the Boy Scouts of America.
