BRISTOL, Va. James Wesley Roberts, age 68, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at his home. He was born Sept. 8, 1943, in Bristol, Va., to the late Fred and Pauline Thomas Roberts and was a lifelong resident of Bristol, Va. He was a retired employee of Barb and Shumaker Paving Co. and was a US Army Veteran. Besides his parents, James was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Gross. Survivors include his children, Angie Osborne, Jimmy Roberts, and Bobby Roberts; three grandchildren, Alex Osborne, Aydan Mumpower and Seth Mumpower; great-granddaughter, Anna Lise Osborne; sister, Doris Daniels and husband, Johnny; brother, David Roberts and wife, Debbie; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service for Mr. Roberts will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery with the Rev. Brian Smith officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Bristol VFW Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Weaver Funeral Home, 630 Locust Street, Bristol, TN 37620 to help the family with funeral expenses.
