Gladys Clark Carter died at Joplin
Gladys M. Carter of Joplin Mo., died at her home 511 N Galena Ave., Jan. 2,1929, at the age of 34 years. She is survived by her husband, Jake Carter, her daughter Agnes Carter, her mother Sarah Moreland Dement Clark of Anderson, three sisters: Ida Meredith of Sulpher Springs, Ark. Ila Clark Sherwood near Anderson, and Aretha Clark Owens of Tulsa, Okla. Three half sisters, Stella Clark Kinslow Browning of Goodman, Jessie Clark Roberts of Bernice,Okla., Bertha Dement Kinslow near Anderson,
and one half brother, Ira Eldon Clark of Hiwassee, Ark.
Also many other relatives and a host of kind friends who expressed their sympathies by the beautiful music and floral offerings.
She was converted and united with the Central Ave.
Methodist Church and lived a consistant Christian life and
was ready to go when she was called, even though to us it
seemed a life unfinished. The Royal Neighbors Lodge were in
charge. Funeral was conducted at the M.E. Church by Rev. Moore.Burial at Forest Park Cemetery. Gladys was well known in and around Anderson, having spent all of her childhood and up to the time of her marriage at this place.
