Gerald was a World War II Veteran serving in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945. He was stationed in India. He was employed by Holley Carbuetor for 20 years and also at Bay City American Hoist & Derrick for 10 years. Gerald enjoyed feeding birds, watching the Tigers games, trains and spending time with his family and being outdoors as much as possible.
Gerald is survived by his daughters Sharon (Michael) Wooddell of Sidney, Ohio and Joy (Greg) Hall of Lake City, Michigan; five brothers: Ernie (Jocelyn), Elton (Ethel), Larry (Lana), Dewey (Vickie) and Bruce (Mary); seven sisters: Helen (Russ) Sanders, June (Don) Wallace, Verna (K.C.) Green, Stella (Gordon) Rydman, Wanda (Bud) West, Donna (Nelson) Clark and Marcia (Curt) Wagner; four granddaughters, Jennifer, Noelle, Vanessa and Darcie; one grandson, Kevin; and three great-grandchildren, Lauren, Graham, and Vincent, numerous other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by three brothers: Donald Barber, Robert "Arlo" Barber and Ellis Barber.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 29th at the Campbell-Stocking Family Funeral Home in Farwell, MI from 10am to 12 noon with the funeral service at 12 noon with his brother-in-law Reverend Bud West officiating.
