Kathryn C. Harvey, 81, of Waynesburg, died at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2000, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg, after suffering a stroke Friday, January 21.

She was born November 20, 1918, in Center Township, Rutan, Greene County, a daughter of Samuel Hawkins and Irene Dunn Carter Harvey.

Miss Harvey had been a resident of Pittsburgh, Phoenix, Ariz., and Bradenton, Fla., prior to returning to Greene County in 1997.

She was a member of the former South Ten Mile Baptist Church and was a 1936 graduate of Center Township High School.

Miss Harvey was an employee of the former Sun Drug Store in Pittsburgh and was employed for about 25 years as an interior decorator for the former Joseph Horne Department Store, Pittsburgh, where she designed and made the draperies for Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh. In 1967, she moved to Phoenix, where she was employed as an interior decorator for Barrow Interior Decorator until her retirement in 1984.

Surviving are three sisters, Margaret H. Stewart of Graysville R.D.1, Josephine H. Kinney of Washington and Jeannette Iams Perkey of Muncie, Ind.; a brother, Samuel H. Harvey of Graysville; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a sister, Evelyn McDonald.

HARVEY – Friends of Kathryn C. Harvey of Waynesburg, who died Tuesday, January 25, 2000, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 29, with the Rev. Bruce R. Judy officiating. Interment in Rosemont Cemetery, Center Township.
