---Hazel Llewellyn Thompson, age 94, of Weatherford, California died Thursday (June 9, 2005) in the local hospital.
---Born June 16, 1910 in Adair County, Missouri to Evan Alexander and Margaret Cecelia Llewellyn, she was the first kindergarten teacher in La Plata, Missouri, a first grade teacher in San Dimas, California and assisted her husband with his church ministries in Missouri and California. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Hemet, California, Retired Teachers Association, Golden Legacy Club and the Alumni Association of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary of Fort Worth. Mrs. Thompson received her BS degree from Texas Wesleyan, a Bachelor of Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and did some graduate work at Truman University, LaVerne University and Pepperdine University.
---She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Claude Thompson, her parents, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
---She is survived by one daughter, Claudette Woods and husband, Larry of Weatherford, California; two grandsons, Jeffry S. Woods and wife, Liz of Weatherford, California and Chad M. Woods of Indio, California; two great-grandchildren, Jordan A. and Katheryne H. Woods of Weatherford, California; and several neices and nephews.
---Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday (June 16, 2005) at the First Southern Baptist Church in Hemet, California.
---Burial will be in the Miller Jones Mortuary and Crematory in Hemet, California.
