Nils Martin (Jönsson)Johnson was born in Snårestad, Malmöhus län in Sweden. His parents were Jöns Nilsson (30 Juli 1850 in Marsvinsholm, Balkåkra- 17 Sept 1926 in Balkåkra).Mother Hanna Jönsdotter married 2 Mar 1876 in Balkåkra to Jöns. She was born ( Dec 1843 in Bjäresjö dies 4 Mars 1894.

Nils Johnson arrived on the Steamship SS Oscar II at the Port of New York on June 23, 1907. He worked in the lumber logging business in Oregon and Washington. Later he moved to Beaver county, Utah to work as a timber man and miner in the Beaver county mines.

In 1916 he married Dora Audrin Stoddard the daughter of Albert Peter Stoddard and Melissa A Blackburn in Minersville, Utah where there first 3 children Alden, Selma, and Carrol were born.

In 1917 Nils was working for the Paloma Mine at Moscow Beaver County Utah.

He filed his declaration of intention to become a US citizen on June 19, 1919 in the Fifth Judicial US Court in Beaver, Utah recording his home address as Minersville, Utah

He and his wife Dora then moved to Milford, Utah in about 1923 where 4 more children Orlyn, Nils Jr, Delane and Sandra were born.
Nils and Dora resided in Milford the rest of their lives.

Nils also worked at the Horn Silver mine, the Old Moscow mine and other mines in Beaver County..

Nils Martin Johnson "Swede" Johnson 75, retired Milford miner, died Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. At the Milford County Hospital of cancer.
He was born August 8, 1888, in Fnorstad, Sweden, a son of John and Hannah Nilsson.
He married Dora Stoddard, July 15, 1916 in Milford.
He is survived by his widow; five sons, Alden, Moore Park, Calif.; Carrol, Ottumwa, Iowa; Orlyn and Delane, Salt Lake City; Nils Jr., US Coast Guard, Hawaii; two daughters, Mrs Harold (Sandra) Pedersen, Salt Lake City, Mrs Delmar ( Selma) Kirk Milford; 21 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
As per his wishes no funeral services will be held and his body donated to the University of Utah Cancer Research Department.
