Service and burial for Ben F. Lowe is planned for 1 p.m. Thursday at the Pines Cemetery.
Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Lowe, 97, a retired school superintendent, died Saturday.
He was born and raised in St. Paul, Minn. He moved with his family to Vashon Island, Wash., and attended school in Vashon Island and Tacoma.
Mr. Lowe graduated from the University of Washington, receiving a bachelors degree in education. He taught at a private school in Seattle for a year. He then returned to the University of Washington for his master's degree.
Mr. Lowe lived in Harrison and St. Maries, Idaho. He worked as a school superintendent in Washington and Idaho for 40 years.
He spent the last 20 years working in the public schools in St. Maries. He retired in 1963 and moved to Spokane later that year.
Mr. Lowe was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
He married Irene Bow in 1923.
Survivors include his wife, at the home; a son, Bernard Lowe of Spokane; and three grandchildren.
