RUBY DELL (BRAWNER) HARRIS – age 84 of Lafayette, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at the Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin.
Funeral Services for Ms. Ruby Dell Brawner Harris were conducted on Wednesday, July 20, at 11a.m. from the Chapel of the Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Don Curtis officiating.
Granddaughters; Tiffany Baker, Andrea Poland, Lacy Harris, Heather Wyman, Shannon McKelvey, Rachael Kaffenberger served as Honorary Pallbearers. Grandsons; Jason Fuqua, Cody Fuqua, Shane Harris, Cory Wyman, Great grandson, Zach Poland, Nephew, Todd Bradley, Sons-in-law; Sam Wyman, Jim Miller, and Jim Fuqua served as Active Pallbearers.
Interment followed in the Macon County Memorial Gardens.
Ruby was born April 15, 1927 to James Earl Brawner and Alma Smith Brawner. She was married sixty-eight years to her childhood sweetheart, Carlos Harris.
They were married on June 26, 1942; he preceded her in death on November 17, 2010.
Ruby was also preceded in death by her father, mother, three sisters, and one great grandson.
She is survived by her five children, Peggy and Jim Miller, Sue and Jim Fuqua, Bob and Terry Harris, Barry and Amy Harris, Angie and Sam Wyman, ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, three sisters, and one brother.
Ruby worked for several years at Form-Fit Rogers, and later at Aero Industries. She was saved as a young girl, and attended Maple Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She liked nothing more than taking care of her family and her home. Ruby will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
