Pastor Has Seizure In Pulpit
Hutto-A 64 year old pastor and Austin teacher suffered a heart attack during his sermon here Sunday morning.
Rev. Kenneth Peterson was dead on arrival after being taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
Rev. Peterson was pastor of Hutto Lutheran Church.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church, Rev. Phillip Wahlberg and Rev. Oliver Burglund officiating. Burial will be in the Capital Memorial Gardens under the direction of Condra Funeral Home of Taylor.
Peterson had lived in Hutto and had been pastor of the Hutto Lutheran Church since 1959. He also taught science and math at Johnston High School in Austin for the last six years. He was ordained at the Lutheran Seminary at Rock Island, Ill. in 1934.
Survivors inclued his wife, Mrs. Kenneth Peterson of Hutto; two daughters, Miss Ellen Peterson and Miss Mary Peterson, both of Austin; three sons, Rev. John David Peterson of Elk Grove, Ill., Mikael P. Peterson of San Francisco, Calif., and Dr. Dan Peterson of El Dorado; three brothers, Rev. Royal Peterson of Lincoln, Neb., Harold Petrson of Mobile, Ala., and Joel Peterson of Axtel, Neb.; one sister, Mrs. Helen Olson of Hasting, Neb.' and six grandchildren.
