Mrs. Joyce E. Adams, age 95, of Etowah Drive, Cartersville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Wellstar-Kennestone Hospital.
Mrs. Adams was born July 27, 1916 in Cherokee County, Georgia, daughter of the late Madison Earl Abernathy and Naomi O. Abernathy. She was a retired Store Manager and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, George Milton Adams; her parents; sisters, Myrtle Segars and Gladys Wills; brothers, Lewis Abernathy, Chirl Abernathy and Lloyd Abernathy; grandson, Matt Adams; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Adams and Dakota McFarland.
Survivors include her children, M.W. & Susan Adams of Cartersville, Horace & Brenda Adams of Venice, Fla., Sammy & Sherry Adams of Cartersville, Wayne & Sheila Adams of Cartersville, Wanda Adams of Cartersville; grandchildren, Gerald Adams of Cartersville, Paula & Jamey Rose of Adairsville, Chris & Donna Adams of Euharlee, Danny Adams of Adairsville, Becky & Glenn Brookshire of Cartersville, Wesley & Leighane Adams of Dallas, Ga., David & Lena Adams of Adairsville; great-grandchildren, Sidney Welchel, Cheyenne Welchel, Will Rose, Ethan Adams, Caleb Adams, George Adams, Noah Adams, Kevin & Ashley Adams, Megan Adams, Hannah Adams, A.J. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning October 15th at 11:30 A.M. in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J. Clinton Green, Rev. Hubert Woodward and Rev. David Baker officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 4:00 until 9:00 P.M. at Owen Funeral Home.
