Mary O. Newberry, age 98, of Dodgeville passed away on Friday, January 6, 2012 at Upland Hills Health following a brief illness. The former Mary Hildreth was born on November 20, 1913 in Willow Springs Township to George and Mary (Jelliffe) Hildreth. She married Robert Newberry of Dodgeville on August 30, 1939. Robert preceded her in death on June 6, 1967. Mary was a member of The Abundant Life Christian Center, was a Foster Grandparent at Dodgeville Elementary School for 21 years and worked at Amphenol Co. for nine years. She was also preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Lucille Rupp; Hazel Hudson-Hildreth; Ruth Hildreth; Jeanette Cunningham and Georgetta Olson-Wittman; two brothers, Howard and William Hildreth and a great grandson.
Mary is survived by two sons, Russell (Diane) Newberry and Anthony (Marilyn) Newberry, both of Dodgeville; seven grandchildren, Teresa Punsack; Kenneth Newberry, Roxanne Newberry; Michael Newberry; Melissa Lindauer; Robert Ramsden and Richard Ramsden; eight step grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 9, 2012 at the Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home in Dodgeville. Pastor Wayne Kennedy will officiate with burial in East Side Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
