CONCORD, CALIF. —

Lois Faye Martin, 71, Houston, Texas, formerly of Mount Vernon, died 4:24 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at John Muir Medical Center, Concord, Calif.

She was born on Saturday, Dec. 21, 1940, in Mount Vernon to Roy A. and Grace J. (Page) Hanley. She married James Calvin Martin, Jr. on Dec. 19, 1975, in Las Vegas, Nev.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon with Randy Sells as the minister.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon.

Interment will be in Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mount Vernon.

She is survived by her husband, James Calvin Martin Jr. of Houston, Texas; a son, Greg Jimenez of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Jamie Spruiell and husband of the San Francisco Bay Area, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Amy Galbraith of Houston, Texas; a stepson-in-law, Andrew Galbraith of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Cavin Spruiell, Ellis Spruiell and Grace Galbraith; two brothers, Bill Hanley and wife Teresa of Eldorado and Donnie Hanley and loving companion Zofia Zajac of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister, Donna Hooper and husband Ron of Eldorado; two stepsisters, Codie Peterson of Centralia and Lodi Greenwalt of O'Fallon, Mo.; and a nephew, Clint Hooper and wife Autumn of Eldorado.

Her parents; one son, Roger Jimenez; and her stepmother, Opal Hanley, preceded her in death
Lois was a co-founder and accountant of a public accounting firm in Houston, Texas. She was passionate enough about volunteering for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo to achieve lifetime membership status with the organization. Her other favorite pastimes were her kids, listening to Elvis Presley and chasing after her grandchildren.
