Of Fairfax City, Virginia passed away on Monday, December 26, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania to the late John Joseph and Grace Anastasia Moran. She is also preceded in death by loving husband of 26 years, Frederick Allen Stapleton and her four sisters: Madeliene, Genevieve, Catherine and Muriel. Mary Louise is survived by her children: Carol Lee (Edward) Johnson, Thomas Allen (Maria) Stapleton, Mary Ann (Gary) Dotson, Richard Frederick (Darline) Stapleton, Frederick Allen Stapleton Jr., Sean Patrick (Joy) Stapleton and Monica (Mike) Miller; her eighteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

Mary Louise was a mother to countless renegades and will be dearly missed by many other family members and friends. She was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, their senior group and the "55"ers. Amongst her greatest joys was spending time with her family at her cottage in Pennsylvania and traveling. Her humor was next to none and had an infectious laugh. "Oh for cryin' out loud."

Friends may call at the Everly Funeral Home, 10565 Main Street, Fairfax, VA 22030 on Thursday, December 29, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where funeral service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 12:00 p.m.. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Historic Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary Louise's memory to: Little Sisters of the Poor - St. Joseph's Home, 1503 Michaels Road, Henrico, VA 23229, (804) 288-6245.
