She was born April 25, 1905, in Chicago, the beloved daughter of her devoted parents, Leonard and Anna (Lechler) Scholl. She was united in marriage to John A. Joerg in 1930. Together they shared a love of books, family and religious faiths.
Mrs. Joerg was known for her gentleness, kindness and devotion to her family. Her interest included reading, especially books about ancient history and religious subjects.
She is survived by her sons, Walter (Nancy) Joerg of Batavia and John (Marie Andre) Joerg of Venice, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, with three who were raised in Batavia, Jason, David and Jeanette Joerg Turley; seven great-grandchildren; a niece, Joan Schlegel; and a great-niece, Kathleen Kelly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Joerg; two sisters, Helen Guinney and Elma Scholl; and a brother, Walter Scholl.
Vigil will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave., Batavia.
Services will be at Moss Family Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, with Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Interment will be private at Resurrection Cemetery in Geneva.
