Obituary of Richard T. Bennett
(August 10, 1938 - December 30, 2011)

New Orleans ~ Richard T. Bennett, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2011, age 73. Beloved husband of Patricia Rosemberg Bennett, and she survives. He is also survived by numerous relatives in Pascagoula, Moss Point and Gautier, MS, and other parts of the country. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Bennett and Ivon Cecile Krebs Bennett from Pascagoula, MS.

Richard was a dedicated environmental scientist at US MMS for 34 years. He was an active member with the Mississippi and New Orleans Power Squadron for over forty years. He was also a member of the University of Southern Mississippi Alumni Association. He had volunteered with the U.S. Peace Corps in the late 1970s.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Esplanade Avenue in New Orleans, on Monday, January 9, 2012 at 12:00 noon. Visitation on Monday at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home (in Metairie Cemetery) 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., from 9:00AM until 11:30AM. Interment will follow in Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula, MS.
