HENRY C. L. LUCK

Henry C. L. Luck, 711 North Star Street, died here early this morning following an illness of two weeks. He was 64 years old.
Mr. Luck had been a resident of El Dorado six years, coming here from Latham where he had lived for a similar period. A native of Germany, he was born in Spandau, Prussia, August 14, 1877, was educated there and served his apprenticeship as a machinist in Berlin.
For four years Mr. Luck traveled in Europe with an American circus and came to this country with "Buffalo Bill" Cody in 1904. The El Doradoan spoke five languages and served as valet and interpreter for Cody.
In 1907 he settled in Ellis County, Okla, and for two years operated a machine shop at May. He also was editor of the Beacon Light at Laverne, Okla, for three years. Later in life he studied at the Darling and Darling Chiropractic College and practiced that profession from 1920 to 1928.
Mr. Luck was married to Mary Donnellon at Woodward, Okla, September 16, 1916, and she survives. Also surviving are: three daughters, Margaret, Ruth and Mary Louise, all at home, and three sons, Eugene LeRoy and Harold William, also at home, and Henry Luck, Jr, Wichita. Other relatives live in Germany. Mr. Luck was a member of the Lutheran Church.
