THE WESTERN CATHOLIC
ETERNAL REST
Mrs. Anna Feddema
Strome, Alberta

Strome and district was shocked and saddened Saturday, March 7, by the sudden passing of Mrs. Anna Feddema at the home of her sister, Mrs. Harvey Bruder in the Spring Lake District.

Mrs. Feddema was born 67 years ago in Meire Grove, Minnesota on November 11, 1885. With her husband she was among those who pioneered by team from Wetaskiwin which at that time was the nearest rail point on her trip from Minnesota. She spent the past 49 years in the Strome district.

Mr. Feddema predeceased her on May 26, 1944. The funeral was held from Our Lady of Fatima Church in Strome on Wednesday, March 11 with Father McCarthy singing the requiem high Mass and officiating at the graveside. Father Schmeltzer of Spring Lake was in the sanctuary. The church was filled to capacity with relatives and friends who came to pay their last respects to the beloved deceased.

The pallbearers were her four brothers, Messrs. Al, Herman, Albert and Bill Schulte; and two brothers-in-law, Harvey Bruder and Len Hergott.

Left to mourn her loss are two sons and one daughter; William of Strome; Edward of Jasper; and Madeline of Victoria, B.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Harvey Bruder of Spring Lake and Mrs. Len Hergott of Calgary; and six brothers: Al and Albert of Barrhead, Ben and Leo of British Columbia and Bill of Killam and Herman of Fort Assiniboine; also twelve grandchildren.

Mrs Feddema was a faithful and active member of the Strome subdivision of the Catholic Women's League for the past 15 years, a model citizen and a wonderful friend. The large number of spiritual offerings were loving tributes to one who lived among us performing her duties quietly but efficiently.

The sympathy of the parish and community goes out to the family in the loss of a loving mother.

May her soul rest in peace.
