Samuel Oscar known to many as "Oscar" spend time as a young man living in Baltimore and working with his uncles making sails for ships.Most of his adult life was spend as a salesman.In 1910, he married Rebecca Bray and they had 5 children Sam Jr.,(1912), Mary Alice (1913), Martha Rebecca (1915), William Hunter (1918), and Frances Ann (1925). He served three terms in The North Caroina General Assembly in Raleigh, N.C. was a shriner and a past master of the Elkin N.C. Masonic Lodge #54. Samuel Oscar was the only son of Edmund and Julia Maguire of Dorchester County, Maryland.
