Layman Wagner, 87, of Canton, Ohio, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002, in Altercare, Navarre, Ohio.
He was born in Pennsboro, W.Va., a son of the late Melvin and Faye Barker Wagner. He was a retired truck driver for Logan Coal and Supply, Canton, Ohio, a Protestant and an U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by four sons, William Wagner and Larry Wagner of Massillon, Ohio, Layman Lee Wagner of Texas, and Allen Ray Wagnar of California; two daughters, Deborah Ansell of Canton, Ohio, and Sharon Myers of Massillon, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Stull Wagnar; one daughter, Betty Mallett; one brother, Otis Wagner; and one sister, Olive Hammond.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Furbee Funeral Home, Middlebourne, the Rev. Donald Thomas officiating. Interment in Middlebourne Cemetery. Friends will be received from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
