Orval W. Dodge, 77, Oakland, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.

Born May 15, 1929, in Kingwood, W.Va., he was a son of the late Jacob F. and Edith M. (Teets) Dodge.

He worked as carpenter for Hawkinson Tread; the Paul Garber Construction Company, where he helped build Big Bear Lake; and for Buffalo Coal Co. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth M. (King) Dodge; two daughters, Patsy L. Shreve and Sandra K. Schmidt, both of Oakland; one son, Gary W. Dodge, Terra Alta, W.Va.; two sisters, Grace Whetsel, West Mifflin, Pa., and Mary Evans, Bruceton Mills, W.Va.; one brother, Gene Dodge, East Fork, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters.

Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, today, Thursday, Nov. 30, from 7 to 9 p.m.

A service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. David Moon officiating.

Interment will be in the King Cemetery.
