Mrs. Mary M. Dowell, widow of the late Alonzo Dowell, died at the Masonic home at Sullivan Tuesday. She was 65 years of age.

Mrs. Dowell's maiden name was Mary Margaret Weaver. She was born near Pittsburg, Williamson county, Illinois, April 5, 1860. She was a daughter of John and Harriet Weaver.

In 1888 she was married to William A. Gaylor, a son, Evert Gaylor, being born to this union. Mr. Gaylor died Dec. 17, 1902. In 1905 Mrs. Gaylor was married to Alonzo Dowell of Shelbyville. Mr. Dowell died in 1923.

Besides her son, Evert Gaylor, she leaves three stepchildren, Tom Dowell, Decatur; Mrs. Daisy Pauschert and Ben Dowell, living in California; two grandchildren, Mary Marie Gaylor and Lloyd William Gaylor, Shelbyville; a sister, Mrs. Virginia Davis, Pittsburg, Ill., and other relatives.

She had been a resident of Shelbyville for about 25 years. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Shelbyville.
