PONTOTOC – Hugh L. “Dick” King, 73, died Monday, March 27, 2006, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born Jan. 25, 1933, in Houston to Turner and Adele King, who preceded him in death. He was a Christian and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was retired from the NMMC grounds maintenance department. Before that, he worked at the Natchez Trace Golf Club and farmed. He enjoyed his children and grandchildren, working on lawn mowers and country music.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Marty Browning and Bro. Castor Buse officiating. Burial will be in the Black Zion Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Joyce King of Pontotoc; one daughter, Tammy Green of Pontotoc; two sons, Darrell King and Debbie, and Derrick King and Stacie, all of Pontotoc; one sister, Viola Snipes of Verona; one brother, James “Toby” King of Beech Springs; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Gary Adams, Dan Windham, Gregg Russell, Terry Hinds, Jimmy King and Danny McKeown.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
