She passed away on September 30, 2007 in Stanwood, WA with her son and daughter at her side following a year-long battle with cancer. Gail grew up on the family farm in Oshkosh, WI, where she was very active in 4H and attended grade school at the one-room Wood School. Following graduation from Oshkosh High School in 1950, she studied nursing at Milwaukee County Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1953 and starting 40 years of providing compassionate care in the Milwaukee area. It was at Green River Community College where making beautiful pottery became her new passion. In 2001, she and her daughter moved to Stanwood, WA, where she transferred her creativity with pottery to quilting and continued her life long joy of gardening. She was mom to Jay, Robb and Mary and step - mom to Chris (Karen), Sheila, Reggie (Steve), Tim (LeAnn), Mary Sarah, Andy, Dave (Debbie) and Matt (Sara). She truly enjoyed her family, her wonderful friends from church, school and the Camano Island Quilt Guild.
