Cindy was married to Michael James Johnson on December 14, 1970. They adopted a beautiful baby boy, John Ryan Johnson. Mike and Cindy divorced in 1998 and Mike passed away in 2003.

Cindy fought a courageous battle with breast cancer, beginning in August of 2009.

She is survived by John and many other loving family members and friends. A celebration of her life and her brother's was held in Rockport and their ashes were scattered according to their wishes.

"She walked out of the room of pain
and through a veil of light like rain.
It kissed her skin and bathed her soul,
she felt the love that made her whole.
She climbed the stairs of shafts so bright
into a room filled up with light
where angels tarried up above,
she sat down in the lap of love!
Her pain was gone!
All stain was gone!
The storm with all it's rain was gone
She felt such peace and oh, so strong!
And knew she ever would belong"
