Allen was the son of Allen and Malinda Watkins Barton.
21 Oct 1875 Nevada Story Co IA he married Charlotte 'Lottie' Lodema Moore Barton. Lottie was the daughter of George and Adelia Jane Horton Moore. Their marriage was blessed with sons; Freddie Lee, George Walter, Charles Allen, Rex Racine and daughter, Effie Barton.
Prior to 1900 he had moved his family to Fall River county S.D. where he engaged in ranching for the next several years.
I'm not sure what prompted his move to Coville WA abt 1917, I find no record of any family being in the Coville area at this time.
