∼Johann Heinrich Sauermann (who went by the name Henry) and his wife Christine immigrated to this country in June 1841 aboard the ship Leontine. Their eldest son William had come over the year before, presumably informing them of the opportunities in the New World. They brought their six children with them; Charlotte, Louise, Christine, Carl Heinrich (Henry Jr), Ernest, and Fredericke.
