Ellis married his wife, the late Fannie M. (Beal) Bishop, on Aug. 21, 1943, and went to war four days later. Ellis served as a Seabee in New Guinea during World War II.
He is survived by his two children, Leslie Bishop and his wife Kim, of North Chelmsford, Mass., and Eleanor Hammond and her husband, Harold of Gouldsboro; five grandchildren, Alvin, Allen, David, Jennifer and Tommy; three great-grandsons, James, Brandon and Kody; one brother, Allison Bishop of Corea; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Fannie in 1997; a son Ronald L. Bishop in 1958; and a brother, Lewis Bishop in 1945.
Funeral services will be held at the Corea Baptist Church, Corea. Interment will be at the Corea Cemetery.
