In the inscription, his middle name is misspelled; it should be "PHILP", which was his mother's maiden name.

The following biographical information about Fred was provided by fellow Find A Grave contributor, John:

Fred to me is 3rd cousin 3x removed, remote some might say, others not!

It is known that he moved to the USA in 1906 together with his Brother William John & Eliza Emmeline (nee Duffield) his wife and Daughter Eva.

They are recorded together in the 1910 Census at Chicago Ward 24, Cook, Illinois.

Whilst they are recorded in US Census data from then onwards and Naturalisation etc, Fred seems to have dropped off the radar other than a WWII Draft Document where he entered his DOB as 10 May 1883!

So little is known regarding his life as yet, but we can research and hope.

He was born in Stoke Climsland, Cornwall, England and Baptised at the Parish Church of All Saints there on 8 July 1883 to Robert 1851-1931 (a Shoemaker)and Mary Searl 1852-1926 (nee Philp).

His siblings were: -
William John Searle (1873 – searching for!)
Mary Elizabeth Searle (1874 – 1914)
James Searle (1876 – 1960)
Harry Philp Searle (1879 – 1898)
Mabel Searle (1881 – 1884)
Simon Philp Searle (1888 – 1976)
