Ruth E. Ohnmeiss, 93, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at the Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital.

Born Nov. 29, 1918, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Arthur James and Minnie L. Marcus Remsnyder

Ruth was a 1936 graduate of Williamsport High School. She was a secretary at Brodart and Shumback.

Ruth was a mentor for the Blind Association and a volunteer at Jackson Elementary School for many years. She was a member of Heilman United Methodist Church.

Ruth is survived by her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Elwood C. Ohnmeiss; two sisters, Leah Scharar and Eleanor Taxacher; and a brother, Melvin Remsnyder.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., with Pastor Connie A. Waugh, officiating. There will be a viewing on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heilman United Methodist Church, 4570 Route 87 Highway, Williamsport, PA 17701.
